Statement on lifting of quarantine measures

Responding to the publication of the 59 countries and territories from where passengers will be exempt from quarantine measures upon arrival into England, Henry Smith MP, Chair of the Future of Aviation Group said:

“Last month’s quarantine was a mistimed policy and its very welcome that it has been removed from 59 countries and territories. Our world class aviation industry remains in an exceptionally challenging situation and this must mark a first step of a more concerted action plan to support our air, travel and tourism sectors, protect the millions of jobs that they provide and to get global Britain flying again”

“We simply cannot afford more of the uncertainty of the last few weeks and I call on Government to unequivocally back our aviation, travel and tourism industries and acknowledge their vital role in our national economic recovery.”
