Government must lead by example on testing costs
Commenting on research showing that NHS Covid-19 tests are currently up to double the price of those provided by private companies, Henry Smith MP, Chair of the APPG for the Future of Aviation said:
“These figures show that despite the welcome efforts to reduce the costs of testing that there is a lot more that needs to be done and must be done and the Government must lead by example by bringing costs in line with private providers and removing VAT from tests. We must not allow the sky-high costs of testing to continue to hold back the restart of international travel and to add disproportionate costs on holidaymakers and international travellers.”
